Green Button products have been designed to be intuitive for most users. Much support material is included within the products.

However we do offer training courses for groups or individuals.

Group training can be arranged at the client premises or other suitable venue by arrangement. Prices are subject to scope and upon request. Please eMail training@greenbutton.co.uk

Individual training can be arranged to take place either remotely or at the user's selected location. Training units are purchasable via this website (see products TR01 and TR02).

An 80 minute session should be enough to give the user a full appreciation of all the many features of Perfect PA. This will enable you to effect most of the information management needs of your small business or day to day life (and ensure that you meet compliance requirements e.g. ISO 9001).

Download the table of contents of training material covering all aspects of Perfect PA.

Individual Training

On site

The purchase of units of TR01 at £65 per unit provides you with one to one time provided at your premises.

Remote

The purchase of 1 unit of TR02 at £130 per unit entitles you to 80 minutes of one to one time provided remotely, with the trainer and trainee both viewing the same screen and having access to keyboard entries and the cursor.
Remote training is available to users outside the UK subject to pre-arranged times in regular UK daytime hours.

Consultancy

Data cleaning and import services and general IT systems consultancy can also be purchased on this site (units of TR01) subject to scope pre-agreed by exchange of eMail or postal correspondence between the parties.

Green Button Software - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Please send you support queries to our support team using one of the following: support@green-button.co.uk
Telephone Support: Available with a Support Contract

Q. I have noticed the database beginning to run slower.
A. You can help the performance by increasing the amount of Cache RAM from the Filemaker Preferences, memory. It defaults to 8Mb but if you up it to about 24Mb you should see an improvement.
Q. How do I “Edit/Remove” misspellings/duplicates in the “View Index”?
A. What you have to do is find them and then replace them. Lets say its the Town field that's got some wrong entries. Enter find mode, click in the Town field, get the index up and select the wrong entry, perform the find and then you have to replace the found set of wrong entries with the right entries.
Q. How can I use the keyboard to move between record numbers?
A. On the Mac and Windows, Control (ctrl) + Up or Down arrow will move forward or back one record. On Windows only you can also use Shift + PgDown or Shift + PgUp
Q. How can I "Goto" a specific record number?
A. If you have the Status Area open at the left hand side, then you will see the 'book' at the top and there is an area that you can select and type in a record number. Hitting the Enter key will take you to that record number. You can open the status area by clicking on the small icon just to the left of Browse at the bottom of the window. There is a preference setting to have these visible at all times under the User Preferences - Settings
Q. The "View Index" is slow to open initially and when scrolling down.
A. Thats due to it building the index for the first time, the speed will depend solely on how many items it has to look at to create the index and the available RAM allocated to the cache.
Q. Why is Perfect PA telling me that my disk is full?
A. This sounds like a permissions problem. Some of the routines require creation of temporary files to manipulate the data. If your directory does not allow everyone to create/modify files then Perfect PA will not be able to save its temporary file and it 'presumes' that the disk is full. To solve this, quit/exit Perfect PA, locate the PerfectPA directory and change its permissions to allow everyone Read/Write access.
Q. I've clicked a radio button, now how do I turn it off?
A. Radio buttons are a 'or' setup where you can have ony one or another clicked. To turn off a radio button hold down the shift key when clicking on the turned on button.
Q. I'm having problems downloading the demo file.
A. We have found it best to use a download manager to ensure that the download completes properly. There are several products available for both Win OS and Mac OS. Download managers can be found by searching on Google or Download.com.
Q. Is the Project Code removed when I delete a project?
A. The Project Code record is removed but any communications and operations, or any other item that has been tagged with a Project Code will keep their individual references, so you can see what previous projects that item has been associated with.
Q. How do I add skins to Perfect PA?
A. Currently there is no way for you as a user to add new skin elements and colours. You can add new backgrounds however. If you would like to see this as an enhancement in future releases then please send an email to me at support at greenbutton.
Q. Can I change the colours ON Screen?
A. Yes. From the Main Menu select User Preferences and click on the Skins tab. From here you can assign one of the available options for colours or background images. You can import your own background image by clicking on the Manage Backgrounds button.
Q. Does the multi-user version have to run on a PC server?
A. No it does not. The server can run on either the mac or pc platform, so you can choose which best suits you. Both mac and pc clients can access any server that is on the TCP/IP network.
